ROB GARRETT’S “King of Diamonds” Neil Diamond tribute Las Vegas residency CONTINUES ON in the “Modern Showrooms Las Vegas” at Alexis Park Las Vegas Hotel.
Music icon Neil Diamond is one of the most successful and beloved singer/songwriters in rock and pop music history.
In addition to being one of the best-selling and record-breaking touring artists ever, he’s also written and recorded the songs of a generation — including some of the most famous songs on the planet.
In the beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th birthday, Neil Diamond stepped away from live performances after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
However, Diamond’s concert legacy continues to be kept alive for audiences worldwide through Las Vegas entertainer Rob Garrett, often called “the best of the best”.
Ask Siri “who is the best Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll hear the same name.
Like his musical hero, Rob Garrett was born in Brooklyn, NY.
In the spring of 1974, his parents moved the family from New York City to Las Vegas, where, two years later, he witnessed his first Neil Diamond concert when Diamond made his attendance-breaking Las Vegas debut at the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts (now “PH Live”) in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him multiple times across the country—right up until Diamond’s last American show at the LA Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett created his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a long and successful run in Las Vegas and across the nation before deciding to move from cover band frontman to a full-time tribute performer dedicated to one of his childhood heroes.
In 1995, Garrett was personally hired by the legendary Paul Revere to portray Neil Diamond in the “Legends in Concert” show in Honolulu, Hawaii.
What was meant to be a limited run turned into a long-term hit show.
By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to go independent.
He began a steady touring schedule, building a large and loyal following along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Las Vegas.”
He continues to draw packed houses nationwide, often in venues fit for superstars.
Garrett has also received multiple accolades, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since Neil Diamond retired, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating his 50 years living in Las Vegas and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last top Neil Diamond tribute act Las Vegas three decades devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has performed his show at more Las Vegas venues than any other tribute artist.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only active Neil Diamond tribute production in America.
The Alexis Park Resort is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., about a quarter mile from Paradise Road.
